Attendance

Every Day Counts

Regular school attendance is essential for your child’s academic progress, wellbeing and future success. When students attend every day, they build strong learning habits, develop teamwork and responsibility, and maintain important social connections. Consistent attendance is strongly linked to improved educational outcomes, greater career opportunities and overall health and wellbeing.

Parents and carers are required to notify the school of any absence, and preferably in advance. Where absences are known in advance and for more than 4 days, parents/carers must complete a form which can be collected from the front office. Absences are assessed in line with the school’s Attendance Policy. If the school has not been notified, families will be contacted on the day of absence.

Unless a child is genuinely unwell or there are exceptional circumstances, students are expected to attend school every day. Holidays and appointments should be scheduled outside of school time wherever possible. Missing school means missing valuable learning, class discussions, teacher support and time with peers.

If your child is experiencing difficulty attending school, we encourage you to contact us. Strong routines at home can help, and our staff – including Year Level Coordinators and the Wellbeing Team – are available to work in partnership with families to support regular attendance. We want every student at school, every day, learning and connected.
